While discovering our patronus, we sampled some veritaserum to uncover the truth of who we were (our true House).

Hogsmeade & Butterbeer

For our April 20th meeting, we visited Hogsmeade and sampled some Butterbeer.  It was so good, we all had a second glass.  We talked about whether we would enter the fantasy worlds we're reading about if given the chance.  Most of us would, but Draco Malfoy and Dudley would be in trouble with several of our members if they met up with them!

There are tons of Butterbeer recipes available online.  The one we drank was similar to the cold one at Universal World of Harry Potter.  It's very sweet. This was ours:

• Cream Soda
• 1-2 Tsp of Butterscotch Sundae Syrup

Frothy Cream Topping

• 1/2 Cup heavy Whipping Cream
• 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
• 1 Tsp Butterscotch flavored Jello Mix

Start with your topping. Pour your ingredients for the cream topping into a mixer and mix until a consistency of whipped cream. Next, fill a chilled mug with chilled cream soda. Leave room at the top for the froth.. Add in your 1-2 tsp of butterscotch sundae syrup (to taste) and stir. Now top with your creamy froth, and enjoy.

Ollivander's Assistants- Wand Making

 Ollivander had many assistants at work during our April 13th meeting.  We are proud of the wands we made and how each one is unique!  And no one got burned with the glue gun!

The Sorting Hat

Professor McGonagall (Mrs. Hurdle) placed the Sorting Hat on each member's head.  The Sorting Hat announced each person's house.  The sorting quiz we used:

Introductory meeting

The introductory meeting for the WES Harry Potter 100 Club will be Friday, March 31 at 11:35 at   #4 Privet Drive.  Come if you want to find out more about the HP 100 Club.  If you decide to take part in the club after the meeting, you will need to commit to reading a Harry Potter book or other 100-page fantasy book that is approved by Mrs. Hurdle.  If you've never read a Harry Potter book, you are missing out!
